Bagan Specialist Centre does its part to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.

Containing COVID-19 in Malaysia

Malaysia announced its first COVID-19 cases on January 25, according to The Star Online.

The number of cases then rose to 22 by February 16, representing a first wave of cases. A second wave began on February 27 and since then the number of people affected by the coronavirus has risen to more than 1,000, The Star Online reported on March 28.

As a healthcare service provider, Bagan Specialist Centre is taking on the responsibility to combat COVID-19 together with Malaysian Ministry of Health (MOH) by following all the guidelines given by MOH. Besides that, we are also providing the public with useful information to stay safe during the pandemic.

In this day and age, social media plays a very important role in our society. Thus, Bagan Specialist Centre uses one of these platforms, namely Facebook, to convey information, knowledge, and facts as well as raise awareness during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period. For instance, we share some insights on How to Manage your Children in the 14 days of Movement Restriction Order?

As the COVID-19 pandemic sweeps the world and the MCO is in place, we also play our part by allowing our administrative staff to work from home and reducing the number of employees working in the office. We have also shared some ideas to other employers on What to do to Protect Employee?

Additionally, we highlighted some family activities such as Family Yoga that parents can practise with their kids during this period. This kind of activities is fun and surely will strengthen family ties.

Besides leveraging social media, we have also launched the Digital Declaration Form. Before entering the centre, patients and visitors can fill out the form on our website or our hospital application available on Google Play and Apps Store. This data is crucial as we want to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our community and reduce the risk of exposure to our employees, doctors, patients and visitors.

As we live in an unprecedented time, we shall remind ourselves time and again that this pandemic shall pass. Let us all stand united together through this difficult time.
