RS Pondok Indah Group: A Legacy of World-Class Healthcare in Indonesia

Established in 1986, RS Pondok Indah Group has treated millions of patients and remains committed to delivering the best healthcare service in the country. Our hospitals have consistently adapted to medical advancements and patient needs through facility upgrades, digital enhancements, and continuous improvement programmes for our medical professionals.

Our journey began with RS Pondok Indah - Pondok Indah. To expand our services and reach more people in Jakarta and its surrounding areas, we opened two more hospitals: RS Pondok Indah - Puri Indah in 2008 and RS Pondok Indah - Bintaro Jaya in 2017. All three hospitals are accredited by Joint Commission International and became the first three hospitals in Indonesia to achieve Stage 6 HIMSS EMRAM validation in April 2022, highlighting our digital maturity for patient safety and service quality.

Highly Specialised Medical Team
Our growth has gone beyond infrastructure. The growing number of our surgeons, specialists, and subspecialist doctors has outpaced the expansion of our facilities. Many of these professionals are highly specialised consultants dedicated to managing specific cases to deliver optimal patient outcomes. Across our three hospitals, we have nearly 700 physicians, with over 80% specialists, and half of them are subspecialists. Our specialists and surgeons are graduates of the most reputable medical schools; many with residency training, courses, or fellowships both locally and internationally. A significant number of the medical staff hold PhD/doctorate degrees in highly specialised areas.

For example, our Orthopaedic Centres are widely recognised for offering comprehensive specialised services, supported by subspecialists in knee, hip, spine, hand, shoulder and elbow, oncology, and paediatrics. Similarly, in internal medicine, we offer advanced care with subspecialists in gastroenterology hepatology, nephrology and hypertension, tropical medicine, rheumatology, geriatrics, endocrinology diabetes and metabolism, allergy and immunology, and haematology-oncology.

Our cardiology team includes experts in interventional cardiology, arrhythmia, echocardiography, and cardiovascular imaging, paediatric cardiology and congenital heart disease subspecialists. The services provided are cardiology diagnostic services, intervention, and ablation treatment for arrhythmia. We also provide broad specialist and subspecialist coverage in paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and dentistry. Furthermore, all of our IVF Centre doctors are subspecialised in Fertility Endocrinology and Reproduction.

Continuous development is key to our success. We invest in certifications, advanced degrees, mentorship, and partnerships with leading medical and nursing schools for training and talent recruitment.

Evolving with Digitalisation
Medical technology is a defining part of our service. By adopting the latest innovations, we offer faster, more accurate diagnostics and treatments that reduce risks and improve recovery.

In the orthopaedics area, we have provided arthroscopy and arthroplasty to hundreds of patients annually, and implemented Vertebral Body Tethering for treating scoliosis in children. Recently, we invested in robotic surgery technology. For gastroenterology, most of the surgeries are minimally invasive, which reduces patient discomfort, optimises recovery times, and lowers complication risks. We also provide comprehensive services in cardiology from diagnostic services to intervention and ablation treatment for arrhythmia. We have also adopted advanced microscopes for microsurgery including awake brain surgery for brain tumour treatment.

We genuinely believe that the digitalisation process has significantly improved our patient journey, care quality, and safety, while also enabling better data access, streamlined operations, and improved strategic decision-making. Our hospitals are equipped with state-of-the-art digital radiology/imaging equipment for more accurate diagnostics and full automation labs to cut turnaround time and provide faster diagnostic results for patients.

Currently, we emphasise processes that will improve digital engagement with our patients. We are redesigning our patient portal, appointment journey, feedback process, and other business process improvement initiatives.

Key initiatives include a plan to open a new hospital branch in a strategic and easily accessible area of Jakarta, establishing new centres of excellence at RS Pondok Indah – Bintaro Jaya, adding more channels for creating doctor’s appointments through our new revamped website, RSPI Mobile app, and WhatsApp, and also enhancing digital hospital information systems for improved efficiency.

Beyond treatment, we actively engage in healthcare education, offering preventive and promotive content through digital channels and social media. We also provide feedback platforms for patients and the community to ensure that their needs and voices are heard. These approaches help us to build trust and shape our services to meet their expectations.
