Get inspired with high-tech care

One of the must-attend healthcare events of the year is coming to town with a bunch of inspiring ideas on how technology can revolutionise healthcare delivery.

The SMART Hospital and Healthcare of the Future APAC 2016 will act as a unique forum for senior management and directors to exchange ideas and innovations that are transforming the medical sector and upgrade the quality of care.

“Healthcare consumers, providers and payers are increasingly embracing the transformational power of technology,” said Lucas Guo, Conference Director of Clariden Global, the global business institution behind the conference, in a press release. “As it has become a must-have tool for transforming patient engagement, enabling personalised medicine, augmenting labour and it is paying off in unprecedented effectiveness across the care ecosystem.”

The event will be held at Mandarin Hotel in Singapore from 25-27 April and will feature a crop of high-profile speakers from all around Asia Pacific including Dr Timothy Low, CEO of Farrer Park Hospital, Rhenu Bhuller, Partner and Senior Vice President of Healthcare at Frost & Sullivan, and Paul D’Urso, a consultant neurosurgeon at the Epworth Hospital in Melbourne.

The discussion will revolve around several much-debated issues such as cost effectiveness through healthcare IT, data analytics in the provision of medical services and the role of 3D printing in developing customised devices and prosthetics for patients.

During the last day of the meeting, attendees will have the chance to get a first-hand experience of the integration between high-quality care and technology by touring Farrer Park Hospital or KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The former is the first Singapore-based hospital integrated with a five star hotel with restaurants, educational facilities and 15 healing gardens. The latter has recently implemented an innovative robotic bottle dispensing system at its emergency pharmacy that permits staff to skip several manual tasks and put more time into patient care.

The event promises to be an occasion that will give a taste of the fast-growing role played by state-of-the-art equipment in our healthcare systems.
