Dr. Lakana Kumar Thavaratnam
Dr. Lakana Kumar Thavaratnam is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Neuro-Ophthalmologist at Sunway Medical Centre Velocity.
He has a lot of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of cataract, diabetic and hypertensive eye as well as glaucoma, stroke, and cerebral palsy.
He often performs cataract surgeries and laser procedures for glaucoma and diabetic eye disease.
He’s also well versed in stroke, cerebral visual impairment for paediatric and adults, and cerebral palsy rehabilitation.
Dr. Lakna Kumar graduated from Manipal College in 1999 and received post-graduate training at the Paediatric Neuro-ophthalmology Greatormond Street Children Hospital in London and at the Singapore National Eye Center.
He is a member of the Malaysia Society of Ophthalmology. In 2017, he received a letter of appreciation for excellent patient care from the University of Malaya.
